It is impossible not to be touched by the images of famine in the Horn of Africa and other regions of the world. Fourteen million people are affected and over four million children under 5 are malnourished and at risk. Urgent action is needed to help save people’s lives. It can be difficult to appreciate the true scale of this emergency.

During times of severe economic hardship, famine, drought or natural disaster, children’s needs are often the first to be sacrificed, often with drastic consequences. Even outside of such catastrophe, impoverished children suffer from hunger, malnutrition, lack of safe water and limited access to healthcare.
